Again we started the day with a continental breakfast. It was about 2-3 hours from Rome to Florence. In Florence we saw the huge Duomo of Florence. It was another cathedral like St. Peters Basilica. We saw the Baptistery with the golden doors and the Palazzo Vecchio in the Piazza della Signoria. Finally we saw the Church of S. Croce. Inside were the tombs of many famous people including Michelangelo and Galileo. Two hours of shopping followed lunch, pizza and water, again. We left the area and went to the very scenic Piazzale Michelangelo. Most of the city and bridges can be seen from here. After about 15 minutes of sightseeing and pictures we left for Montecatini, it was about an hours drive. Dinner consisted of pasta, chicken, potatoes, and apple cobbler, Italian style. About half of the group dressed up for dinner. After dinner we went to the lively area and rode a carousel and got gelati.
